Alpro Pharmacy and NCSM to improve lives of cancer patients

Alpro Pharmacy and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia have partnered to improve the lives of cancer patients and survivors.

Alpro Pharmacy, Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain, and the National Cancer Society of Malaysia (NCSM), the first non-profit cancer organization in the country, have come together to improve the lives of cancer patients and survivors.

The two organizations have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on a number of initiatives. As part of its partnership with the NCSM, Alpro Pharmacy has agreed to not make a single cent of profit from cancer medications.

“At Alpro, our vision is to create a healthy and vibrant world, and we are committed to prioritizing the well-being of the public over profits. Understanding that cancer patients and their families are heavily burdened financially because of their treatments and medications, to ease their difficulty we are collaborating with relevant distributors and suppliers for special pricing, and to ensure these medications are even more affordable, we have made the decision not to make a single cent of profit from it.” said Ph. Low Swee Siong, Chief Executive Officer of Alpro Pharmacy.

ONCOHelp, a One-Stop Center for Cancer Patients

Alpro has also set up ONCOHelp, a one-stop center for cancer patients and their families. ONCOHelp is a valuable resource for cancer patients and their families. The services include sourcing affordable cancer medications, assisting in funding for eligible patients, and providing complimentary 365-days medical holistic support for registered patients.

The team of healthcare professionals can provide guidance and support throughout the cancer journey, from diagnosis to treatment and beyond. The centralized ONCOHelp team, comprising of healthcare professionals including doctors, pharmacists, physiotherapists, nutritionists, and dietitians, will be providing invaluable patient navigation services.

Alpro Pharmacy to sponsor RM 200,000 worth of ONS

In addition, Alpro Pharmacy is also providing NCSM with RM 200,000 worth of oral nutrition supplements (ONS). These supplements will provide much-needed nutritional support to NCSM’s cancer patients, and ultimately enhance their quality of life.

The collaboration between Alpro Pharmacy and NCSM is a significant step forward in the fight against cancer in Malaysia. By working together, the two organizations can provide much-needed support to cancer patients and their families, and ultimately improve the lives of those affected by this disease.
