Each box contains 12 sachets. \u003cbr\u003eThe product is a ready to drink oral suspension.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eOverview\u003cbr\u003eSmecta® is indicated for:\u003cbr\u003e- Treatment of acute diarrhoea in adults and children above 2 years, in addition to oral rehydration\u003cbr\u003e- Symptomatic treatment of chronic functional diarrhoea in adults\u003cbr\u003e- Symptomatic treatment of pain associated with functional bowel diseases in adults\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDosage\u003cbr\u003eTreatment of Acute Diarrhoea\u003cbr\u003eIn children of 2 years of age and above: 4 sachets per day for 3 days, then 2 sachets per day for 4 days.\u003cbr\u003eIn adults: On average, 3 sachets per day for 7 days. In practice, the daily dose can be doubled at the start of treatment. \u003cbr\u003eOther Indications\u003cbr\u003eIn adults: An average of 3 sachets a day\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eDrug Interactions\u003cbr\u003eAs the adsorbent properties of this product may interfere with the absorption times and\/or rates of other substances, it is recommended not to administer any other drugs at the same time as SMECTA® (more than 2 hours, if possible)\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eContraindication\u003cbr\u003e- Pregnancy and lactation.\u003cbr\u003e- Infants and children below 2 years\u003cbr\u003e- Hypersensitivity to diosmectite or one of the excipients\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003eCaution\u003cbr\u003e- Used with care in patients with a history of severe chronic constipation. \u003cbr\u003e- The reference treatment in acute diarrhoea is oral rehydration solution (ORS).
