DOC2US, the first telemedicine provider in Malaysia in compliance with the Ministry of Health to provide digitally signed e-prescription services, today announced making it into the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) for the “First Digital Signature Electronic Prescription System” and the “Most Number of Digitally Signed Electronic Prescription In A Year”.
DOC2US is the first in Malaysia to raise the standard in remote medication prescribing and dispensing by adopting MSC-accredited Trustgate-powered Digital Signature system as required by Ministry of Health and in compliance to the Digital Signature Act 1997 and Poisons Act 1952 back in January 2020. The subsequent implementation of the Movement Control Orders in the country prompted the company’s second MBOR award of signing a total of 216,458 electronic prescriptions from June 2020 to May 2021.
Dr Raymond Choy, Chief Executive Officer of DOC2US said about their achievements with MBOR, ‘We are truly humbled and honoured with the recognitions. When we launched in 2017, we only managed to record about 500 e-prescription generated by our online doctors. There were steady growth year-on-year, however, it was during the pandemic outbreak we saw a steep adoption and utilisation of online consultation services. To date, DOC2US has overall generated and processed more than 400,000 e- prescriptions with average 1 electronic prescription processed every 1 minute.’
As part of its duty of care, DOC2US is actively participating in the National and State COVID-19 Immunisation Programmes. It has been appointed as Healthcare Organiser (HCO) at 9 vaccination centres including Setia City Convention Centre 1 & 2, D’Tempat Sendayan, Tropicana Garden Mall, EVO Mall Bangi, Aurora Place Bukit Jalil, Kompleks Sukan PKNS Kelana Jaya, and De Palma Hotel Shah Alam, and to mobilise 6 on-site teams to vaccinate at community halls and corporate offices. Together, the company is projected to administer close to 40,000 doses a day in helping Malaysia’s race to achieving herd immunity.
For these, DOC2US aims to run the centres as efficiently as an airport while providing a good user experience as joyful as Disneyland, therefore, it has gathered more than 200 healthcare professionals, and hundreds of volunteers mainly from a pool of grounded or retrenched airline staff.
‘To ensure our vaccinees feel comfortable and relaxed for their vaccinations, we have a dedicated ‘Fun Team’ in each centre to assist vaccinees from filling up their registration forms to reminding them their bragging rights on social media by taking photos for them,’
‘We would like to thank Protect Health and SelCare for giving us the opportunity to play our part, serve the country, and help fellow Malaysians go back to the life they knew before the COVID-19 pandemic as soon as possible. Also, we are thankful to our strategic partners, AirAsia, MacroKiosk, Alpro Pharmacy, Oxwhite, Agmo Studio, Homage, St John Ambulans Malaysia and Strategic Public Relations Group in providing us the necessary supports, and to sponsors who came forward with food, drinks and goodies.” added Dr Choy.
