[SENDAYAN, NEGERI SEMBILAN, 6 July, 2022] – Consumers in Malaysia will soon
be able to buy SUGI Pharmacy’s healthcare and personal care products from Japan
here in Alpro Pharmacy, thanks to a newly announced exclusive partnership
between both companies.
Stocking up on healthcare and personal care products at drugstores
(pharmacies) is one of the most popular itineraries when visiting Japan. The
partnership is teleporting that experience right to our shores in
Malaysia.
Through this partnership, locals can enjoy over 30 SUGI’s brands of
healthcare and personal products, saving them the worry of excess luggage fees
at the airports.
At the press conference earlier today, Alpro Pharmacy Group Chief Executive Officer, Ph. Low Swee Siong, said, “We are delighted to give local consumers one more reason to make Alpro their go-to pharmacy by bringing the world’s renowned Japanese healthcare and personal care culture to Malaysia.
We are grateful that this exclusive collaboration is with a strong business partner and a like-minded ally, as Alpro and Sugi share similar core values that drive social value creation to better support the local community’s health whilst opening more exciting business opportunities,” added PH. Low.
President & Representative Director of Sugi Holdings Co, Ltd, Katsunori Sugiura, who is also a pharmacist, said, “we believe Alpro Pharmacy is the perfect partner for us as both organisations share similar values as a community pharmacy that putting people and their well-being as priority.
We want to bring together all the resources of our companies and evolve into a new type of drugstore that can deliver health, trust, security and safety to Malaysia, Japan and other Southeast Asian countries,” added Sugiura.
Some must-try products from the SUGI’s line consumers can look forward to include private brand products jointly developed by Sugi Holdings with Japanese manufacturers, and popular made-in-Japan brands that have not yet distributed in Malaysia.
During the press conference, Alpro and SUGI Pharmacy signed the Memorandum of Understanding to officiate this exclusive collaboration and announced the opening of three pop-up stores in Isetan (KLCC, Lot 10 and The Gardens) from September before setting up a dedicated corner in Alpro Pharmacies nationwide.
