Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain, Alpro Pharmacy, announced the opening of five new pharmacies here. In addition to the ten existing outlets in Kuching, the new outlets brought professional and personalised pharmacy care with e pharmacy to provide the community faster door to door medication delivery.

Alpro Pharmacy Sarawak Director Ph. Wong Ling Fung said “Growing up in a small town like Sarikei, I understand that it was not always easy to get medication or professional care. Therefore, together with fellow Sarawakian Joshua Tu and Kiing Ai Siang, we partnered with Alpro Pharmacy and started our first outlet in Kuching three years ago.

Today, besides pharmacists in all our outlets, we also have nutritionists and dietitians, and in some outlets, physiotherapists, to provide one-stop professional healthcare services. We also provide rental of rehabilitation equipment such as wheelchairs, hospital beds and oxygen concentrator as well as ripple mattress,” added Ph. Wong.

With the vision of a healthy and vibrant world, Alpro Pharmacy is committed to supporting and taking care of the communities. Nationwide, it is currently supporting 150 pupils with RM100 per month under Alpro Foundation’s Growing Star Project and providing more than 150 families with patients requiring oral nutrition support.

Alpro Foundation Chief Executive Officer Ostwin Paw said that Alpro Foundation’s primary source of funds is from recycling efforts and contributions from the sales of its charity water and other selected products.

“We are constantly on the lookout for opportunities where we can support the communities around us. Our Foundation is working with our local partners to see how we could contribute here. In the meantime, we have installed a medication disposal bin at all our outlets for the free disposal of expired or unwanted medication which should not be disposed of like domestic waste as it pollutes landfills and affects the ecosystem, “said Paw.

The new outlets are located at Sibiyu, Medan Jaya, Park City, Jalan Keppel and Junction 5. In conjunction with the opening, special promotions are available in-store and customers will stand the chance to win prizes and exclusive gifts.
