As COVID-19 cases resurge, Alpro Group, the holding company of Malaysia’s largest prescription pharmacy chain – Alpro Pharmacy, joined forces with Panasonic Malaysia to enhance air quality in all outlets and its headquarters. Through a Memorandum of Understanding, Alpro aimed to prioritise the safety of its patrons and employees by implementing Panasonic’s nanoeTMX technology air purification system.
Recognising the heightened risk of viral infections in enclosed settings, especially workplaces, Alpro Group focused on improving indoor air quality (IAQ) as part of its commitment to customer reassurance.
The strategic partnership aligns with Alpro Group’s latest tagline, “Reassurance that brings Smiles,” emphasizing the importance of creating a safe and welcoming environment for visitors.
Alpro Pharmacy Chief Pharmacist, Ph. Lim En Ni, expressed the company’s commitment to customer assurance, ensuring a safe and secure experience for patrons upon entering any Alpro outlet.
“To us, customer assurance starts the moment patrons enter any Alpro outlets. Our goal is to make them feel safe from the moment they walk through the doors, and that includes the environment of our outlets, including the air they breathe. By providing them a peace of mind when visiting Alpro outlets, they could freely engage with our team of professionals from doctors to pharmacists, to dietitians & nutritionists,
to physio-therapists, to beauty advisors.” Ph. Lim En Ni said.
The nanoeTM X technology by Panasonic contributes to this assurance by offering deodorization and suppressing pathogenic microorganisms, fostering a clean and comfortable environment.
Panasonic Malaysia Country Head of Life Solutions, Atsushi Yoshida highlighted the shared mission of both companies in enriching lives and prioritizing safety. The nanoeTMX technology not only ensures well-ventilated and clean spaces but also aligns with energy-efficient practices.
“Both Panasonic and Alpro Group shares similar missions which is contribution and enriching lives of our society, while valuing our people and protecting them by providing a safe environment for them to shop or work. Our unique technology and solutions not only keep buildings well-ventilated, cool and clean but with efficient energy usage.” Atsushi Yoshida stated.
This collaboration reflects Alpro’s dedication to environmental and social responsibility, particularly in line with the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) principles and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), such as SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities and SDG 15: Life on Land. As the world grapples with ongoing health challenges, this initiative underscores the importance of innovative solutions to create secure and healthy spaces for businesses and customers alike.
