Alpro Group, the holding company of Malaysia’s prescription pharmacy chain – Alpro Pharmacy, has forged a strategic partnership with Airdoc Technology (HK), a leading AI company in healthcare, and Ethos Healthcare, a dedicated integrated healthcare and distribution service provider in Malaysia.
Together, they are offering free preliminary health screening via Occu-AI, a transformative technology utilising retina imaging, the first of its kind in Malaysia, at Alpro outlets. This initiative aims to provide a proactive approach to health management and promote potential risk detection of chronic diseases.
Occu-AI goes beyond traditional methods, utilising advanced technology to generate substantial data and insights. This innovation assists pharmacists in swiftly and accurately detecting health risks in their early stages through non-invasive retina imaging.
This advanced detection method uncovers various health concerns, including early signs of diseases such as diabetes, cognitive impairment disorders, macular vision impairment, and inhalable particulate matter risk.
Ray Zhang, CEO of Airdoc Technology said, “Retina imaging stands as a game-changer in predictive health risk screening. ‘Occu-AI’ represents our collaborative effort to harness this cutting-edge technology for the benefit of Malaysians, introducing a proactive approach to health management. We are excited to join forces with Alpro Group and Ethos Healthcare in this meaningful journey of educational empowerment.”
Furthermore, Alpro Group, in collaboration with Ethos Healthcare as the distributor, will fully subsidise Occu-AI screening services for the nation’s health and well-being. Individuals can undergo health screening tests at Alpro outlets without any financial burden.
Maximilian Lim, Ethos Healthcare’s Country Manager of Malaysia, Philippines and Brunei added, “As a part of ‘Occu-AI,’ retina imaging becomes a tool for nationwide health empowerment. Our dedication is to ensure that individuals and families across Malaysia can benefit from these advanced yet free health screenings. This way, more people can benefit from early detection of potential diseases, receiving medical treatment and hopefully, reducing chronic disease rates in Malaysia.”
Besides being cost free, this technology prioritises privacy, ensuring utmost confidentiality in handling personal information and patient results. Results will be strictly shared only with the patients via SMS, adhering to both international and national regulatory standards.
Ph. Then Ru Luen, Occu-AI Project Director of Alpro Pharmacy said, “This technology not only enhances our pharmacists’ effectiveness in understanding the community’s health progressively and consistently but more importantly, enables us to provide regular, complimentary health screenings, reinforcing our commitment to provide assurance and brings smiles to our customer.”
