Plastic bags, are something that we take for granted. Every time when we go out to buy something, we are expected to have plastic bags to hold all our items. Do we know that a single plastic needs approximately 700 years to start breaking down?

Plastic bag would not fully break down. In fact, it will turn into microplastics which will continue polluting the environment. According to the IUCN (International Union for Conservation of Nature), there are over 300 million tons of plastic produced in a year and out of the 300 million, 8 million tons of that will end up in the ocean every year. Around 80% of all marine debris is plastic and it is found everywhere, from the bottom of the ocean to floating above the ocean.
